Navidad mine near Rodeo, Durango
Specimen size: W: 5, D: 5.0, H: 4.5 cm
Description: Very nice sphere of creedite crystals to 1.8 cm in length. The transparent to translucent creedite crystals exhibit partly an orange color caused by iron oxides. A few crystals show black spots due to Mn-oxide inclusions.

RD-10 :  Calcite butterfly twin
Patoni, near Rodeo, Durango
Specimen size: 7.3x5x2 cm
Description: Calcite butterfly twin with internal zonation intergrown with a broken butterfly twin on its backside. The specimen is mounted on a wooden base. The calcite crystal is water-clear at its outer rim, the zonation is caused by growth zones and microscopically small inclusions. The twin plane of this contact twin is {0 1 –1 2}. A fine striation parallel to this twin plane is visible on the crystal faces.

RD-07: Calcite butterfly twins on matrix
Patoni, near Rodeo, Durango
Specimen size: W: 8, D: 8, H: 8 cm
Description: two undamaged calcite butterfly twins (largest 34 mm wide, 25 mm high) are sitting together with short prismatic calcite crystals on the matrix rock (rhyolitic tuff). The base of this specimen has been cut with diamond saw.
